Principal Features
S31254 (F44/254SMo) is a 18% Ni, 20% Cr, 6% Mo super austenitic stainless steel grade with 0.2 % nitrogen, 0.7% copper additions. It is a very high end austenitic stainless steel that combines impact toughness resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking, pitting and crevice corrosion with strength nearly twice that of 300 series stainless steels. In some applications it has been found to be a more cost effective substitute for high nickel and titanium alloys.

Main Application
S31254 has good behavior in many corrosive solutions application for example in chemical and petrochemical processes or chloride containing solutions. It is also seawater resistant and has extensively been used in offshore industries. Its main application contains Petroleum production, saltwater handling, food processing and chemical processing equipment, pulp mill bleach systems, flue gas desulfurization scrubbers and tall oil distillation columns.
